| Liquid Assets Viewing Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, Kentucky American Water, and American Society of Civil Engineers will be hosting a viewing of Liquid Assets on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 5:30 pm at the Kentucky Theater. UK PhD Research Assistant Position Available The Geotechnical Engineering Group at the University of Kentucky currently has multiple research assistantship (RA) positions available for students interested in pursuing the Ph.D. in areas pertaining to resilient infrastructure. Particular emphasis is on dams, levees, and dikes. Research areas of interest include: testing and evaluation of the dynamic behavior of soil and concrete; fluid-structure-soil interaction; high-performance computing in infrastructure modeling; blast response of civil infrastructure; and sensor technology applied to civil infrastructure. These research assistantships pay FULL TUITION, FEES, AND A COMPETITIVE STIPEND. Applicants are required to be U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents.
